II. Minutes

The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Banks Edwards and a correction was made-the insurance was paid only for one year, so we owe the N-Scale Division for one year’s insurance of a bit over $300. The minutes as corrected were approved by the membership.

III. Treasurer's Report

The treasurer’s report was made by Bill Little. We have $311.19 in the bank with a bit over $700 to be deposited tomorrow. The report was approved by the membership.

IV Old Business

   A. Status of Toys for Tots: The Marines have the trains and all but four of the trains have been paid for. Two train sets have not been spoken for. A further update will be given at the January meeting.

   B. The next business meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at Bill’s Train Shed January 3, 2018.

   C. The next run session will be at Bill’s on December 19. People interested in helping, will meet Reed at Bill’s on December 19 at 2:00 pm  to set up the engine servicing facility in order to complete some work and enable us to have an instructional session at the run session.

D.The election of officers was held and the following officers were elected by acclamation:

President: Charles Tucker

Vice President: Steve Grenot

Secretary: Chip Barona

Treasurer: Bill Little

These officers will assume responsibilities on January 1. 2018

   E. A review of the Hadji Show was made. The show went smoothly and we had good help both setting up and packing up. The engine facility was missed by some. The bridge needs work and was packed up just inside the trailer door for ease of removal for servicing.

V. New Business:

   A. Presentations for spring meetings:

      1. January-Reed will present a photo tour of some European and US high-speed trains

     2. February_TBD

     3. March-Charles Tucker will demonstrate live steam on his patio. The March business meeting will be held at the Tucker home 3935 Bayou Blvd on Tuesday , March 6, 2018. Food will be present!

   B. Mobile Show reminder—March 10 & 11 with set up on Friday, March 9.

   C. Bill Little moved and Banks Edwards seconded a motion to give DJ a $100 gift card (VISA) as thanks for his help on multiple occasions. The motion carried without dissent. An idea to make him an honorary member met with negativity.

   D. The N-scale Division sent us a check for $100 to aid the repair of the trailer! How thoughtful of them.

   E. Bill Little is to scope out the repair to the trailer, including looking in to the possibility of trading up for a larger one.

   F. Reed announced that he is trying to plan a late spring convention for the Gulf Division of NMRA Southeastern Region.

He solicits our help. (Late May, Saturday, trip to CSX yard, layouts to look at, dinner, model contest are possibilities)

   G. Reed expressed his thanks for the opportunity to serve as President. We expressed our profound thanks to him for his service.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:23 pm.

Minutes taken and was submitted by Charles Tucker in Chip’s absence.
